Miami kept its undefeated season rolling with a Week 8 win over Syracuse.
As a result, for the second straight week, two Hurricanes were named Players of the Week by the ACC for their performances.
Senior tight end Chris Herndon was named the ACC Receiver of the Week. Herndon had a career day against the Orange, hauling in 10 catches for 96 yards — both career highs — and a touchdown.
It was the second straight week a Miami receiver has taken home the weekly honor. Darrel Langham did so following the Hurricanes’ win over Georgia Tech.
On the other side of the ball, Miami linebacker Michael Pinckney received his second honor in as many days as he was named the conference’s Linebacker of the Week. Pinckney racked up nine tackles (six solo) as well as 3.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. The performance was the first multi-sack game of Pinckney’s career.
Sunday, Pinckney was named the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week.
