Standing at 5-foot-11 and 210 pounds, James received offers from Appalachian State, Army and Jacksonville, but he will head to Miami as a preferred walk-on. James told 247Sports that Miami asked him to pay for his first semester of tuition, and then after current Hurricanes long snapper Jordan Butler graduates in December, they will offer him a scholarship.
James is from Cocoa, FL, which is on the east coast of the state about an hour from Orlando. Cocoa is approximately three and a half hours north of Miami.
