It didn’t take long into summer camp for the Miami Hurricanes to land their first commitment. Defensive end Jason Munoz committed just after receiving an offer from the Hurricanes.

“Why Miami? Why not? I love it here,” Munoz said according to InsidetheU’s Andrew Ivins. “Everyone from Miami wants to go to Miami so this is a dream come true and an unbelievable feeling.”
Munoz, who is a 3-star prospect, is ranked the No. 51 strongside defensive end in the 2019 recruiting class, according to 247Sports. But he could end up being a much better player than that ranking. He broke a fibula and missed all of last season, but he “recovered quickly” and looked good this spring.
He also received offers from Louisville, Pitt, Boston College, Kentucky, Missouri and Maryland.
Miami now has 13 commits in its 2019 class, which is the most in the ACC. The Hurricanes class is ranked second-best in the conference behind only Clemson, which has 12 prospects committed, and seventh in the country.
