A potential major piece to Miami’s Class of 2019 clarified his intentions with a single tweet on Wednesday.
Michael Johnson Jr., a 4-star dual-threat quarterback from Eugene, Ore., who is atop the Hurricanes’ wish list, confirmed he is taking an official visit to Coral Gables from June 20-22.

Last season, Johnson amassed 33 touchdowns (21 passing, 12 rushing) as a junior.
Miami is listed with the second-best projection, behind hometown Oregon, by 247Sports for the 6-foot-3, 192-pound quarterback.
Johnson recently took official visits to Penn State and N.C. State.
Johnson has plenty of respect for Mark Richt and the tradition of the Miami program, which is why he has the Hurricanes firmly in the mix.
“Coach [Mark] Richt is — if not the most — one of the most-respected coaches in college football, and his staff, they’ve recruited me since Day 1,” Johnson told KFXX’s Andrew Nemec when he announced his top 7 in May. “That’s a really unique opportunity also and I really appreciate the way that they’ve been consistent in their recruitment.”
