By the time the first round of the NFL Draft is over on Thursday night, Bradley Chubb will be working the media circuit with his name having long come off the board. The former N.C. State defender is projected in a number of mock drafts as a player that could be picked with one of the top five overall picks – which would make him just the third ex-Wolfpack player to earn that status.
Of course, Chubb wasn’t coming to the draft without his mother and his very best attire. The man who calls himself “Astronaut…’cause I’m taking off out of this world” paid homage to that nickname – he even changed his Twitter handle from @AstroChubb to @astronaut – and his hometown of Atlanta with his draft day wardrobe on Tuesday. Chubb put up some out-of-this-world numbers as he departed N.C. State as its all-time sacks leader, passing 2006’s No. 1 overall pick, Mario Williams. He’ll be looking to do the same at whatever NFL franchise he ends up at, but one thing’s for sure: he has the wardrobe part of the game down pat.
