The N.C. State football program landed 3-star defensive end Derrick Eason for the 2018 recruiting class Friday night. Eason announced his commitment on Twitter.

At the end of his post, he wrote:
“With that being said I’ve talked it over with my mom and coaches and I’ve decided to spend the next 4-5 years at ….. North Carolina State University!!”
The Norfolk, Va native is the 60th strong-sided defensive end and 1,363rd overall player in the 2018 recruiting class according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He is also considered the 27th-best recruit from Virginia.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, Eason received offers from more than a dozen schools, including other ACC programs – Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Syracuse and Wake Forest.
Eason is the 17th hard commit and third at defensive end for N.C. State in the 2018 recruiting class. The other two defensive ends are 3-star players Davontae McCrae and Devin Hayes.
The N.C. State 2018 recruiting class is rated sixth in the ACC and 33rd overall in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
