North Carolina State announced on Wednesday that they’d agreed to play a home-and-home basketball series with the Auburn Tigers.
The series will begin this season with the Wolfpack taking on the Tigers this Dec. 19 at PNC Arena. North Carolina State will then travel to Auburn to reciprocated the trip during the 2019-20 season.
Auburn finished 26-8 last season, winning a share of the SEC regular-season title and earning a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament. They’d go on to lose to Clemson in the second round.
North Carolina State finished 21-12, finishing third in the ACC and earning a No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament. They lost to Seton Hall in the first round.
The matchup should be a great test with tournament implications for both sides. Auburn didn’t have a single senior on their roster last season.
The Wolfpack lead the all-time series 5-3, but the two teams have not met since 2009.
