Standing at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, Adams is the second-highest rated prospect the Tar Heels football team has committed in the 2018 recruiting class according to 247Sports. The same website ranked Adams the No. 6 2018 recruit in North Carolina.
Outside linebacker Payton Wilson, who is also from North Carolina, is the only higher rated prospect committed to the Tar Heels next year. With the addition of Adams, the Tar Heels have three of the top 10, including two of the top six, recruits from North Carolina committed for 2018.
Adams also had offers from Alabama, Clemson, East Carolina, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Ole Miss, SMU, South Carolina, Southern Miss, TCU and Virginia Tech.
With Adams on board, North Carolina has 11 commitments from 2018, five of which are 4-star prospects. There’s still a long way to go until National Signing Day, but the Tar Heels are off to a strong start, ranking fifth overall in the ACC for the 2018 recruitment class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
