Former North Carolina football safety Tim Scott has caught on with a new NFL team during preseason camp.
The third-year NFL player signed with the Washington Redskins on Thursday, the team announced.
Scott had previous stints with the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns. He has not played in an NFL game since entering the league as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys. He had a pair of stints on Dallas’ practice squad before taking on the same role in Cleveland.
Scott started 45 games in his career at North Carolina. He finished his career with the Tar Heels with 212 tackles with 25 passes defensed and eight interceptions. During his senior season he led North Carolina’s defensed in tackles (72).
