North Carolina was believed to be one of the favorites to land Kentucky transfer Sacha Killeya-Jones, but it appears the 6-foot-10 forward will head elsewhere.
247Sports’ Ben Sherman reported Saturday that the Tar Heels have backed off their recruitment of Killeya-Jones, citing multiple sources.
The Chapel Hill, N.C., native scheduled visits to North Carolina State, Wake Forest and Pitt and was in contact with North Carolina to set up a visit, according to ESPN’s Jeff Borzello.
Kentucky transfer Sacha Killeya-Jones is visiting NC State tonight and tomorrow, and Pittsburgh this weekend, his former coach Fred Cannon told ESPN.
Also has a trip to Wake Forest Memorial Day Weekend.
North Carolina has been in consistent contact, but no visit set yet.

Those four schools made the top 10 for Killeya-Jones along with Arizona State, Nevada, Clemson, Georgetown, Notre Dame and Texas.
Killeya-Jones is a former 5-star prospect, but saw inconsistent minutes with Kentucky. In his two years with the Wildcats, he averaged 3.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in 11.7 minutes per game.
