Former NCAA Champion and North Carolina forward Sam Perkins will be elected into the College Basketball Hall of Fame.

A member of the 1982 national championship team, Perkins was a three-time All-American forward. When he finished his time at North Carolina, the 6-foot-9, 235-pound Perkins ranked as the all-time leader in rebounds (1,167).
Perkins averaged 15.9 points and 8.6 rebounds on 57 percent shooting.
He went on to be drafted No. 4 overall in the 1984 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks.
Perkins played 17 seasons in the NBA, with Dallas, the Los Angeles Lakers, Seattle SuperSonics and Indiana Pacers.
