The NFL is full of former Notre Dame stars who are making a huge impact. According to Pro Football Focus, one of them is among the best at his position.
PFF tweeted out its ratings for the best run defense safeties in the NFL on Friday morning and the list had a familiar face at the top.

Former Irish star Harrison Smith was not only listed as the best run-stopping safety in the league, but it wasn’t particularly close. This doesn’t come as any surprise; in his sixth season with the Minnesota Vikings, Smith was selected as an AP first-team All-Pro after recording 57 tackles and 5 interceptions.
This isn’t the first time PFF has given heavy praise to Smith. The website ranked him as the third-best player in the league in its final 2017 player rankings, and also wrote that he had the best single-game performance of any safety in the 2017 season.
After an outstanding career with the Irish, it appears that the 29-year-old Smith could be at the top of his craft in the NFL for years to come.
