The Notre Dame Fighting Irish recently announced a new 111,400-square-foot indoor athletics center to be completed by July 2019, but the Irish football team is also giving their outdoor practice field a facelift.
Notre Dame is in the process of installing new state-of-the-art turf and offered a sneak peek of the new playing surface on Monday.

FieldTurf is an industry leader in artificial playing surfaces. Notre Dame now has both artificial turf practice fields and a natural grass practice field at the LaBar Football Practice Fields, allowing them to prepare to play on either playing surface depending on who their opponent is on any given week.
Notre Dame Stadium used a natural grass playing field up until 2013, but switched to a FieldTurf surface beginning with the 2014 season.
