In what could prove to be the best recruiting class ever at Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish are adding several key pieces to their defense this week. That includes 4-star inside linebacker Jack Lamb.
Lamb is now officially committed and signed his letter of intent on Wednesday.

How Jack Lamb fits at Notre Dame
Adding Lamb gives the Irish a new massive presence inside the teeth of the defense. His big body should help clog running lanes and improve a Notre Dame run defense that finished the 2017 regular season at No. 49 in the country.
And in the final month of the season, the Irish weren’t good at stopping the run. Notre Dame yielded 4.7 rushing yards per attempt during November. Eight of the 9 rushing touchdowns the Irish allowed during the 2017 regular season came in the final month.
That sharp decline toward the end of the year shouldn’t happen again if Lamb, along with fellow 2018 commit safety Derrik Allen, fulfill their potential as run stoppers.
