Days after taking a visit to Notre Dame, Sanford (N.C.) Lee County running back Jahmir Smith is now committed to the Irish. He announced his decision Sunday on Twitter.

The 6-foot, 200-pound running back held a reported 27 scholarship offers, settling on the Irish over expected favorite North Carolina. Smith is a 3-star recruit, according to the 247Sports composite. He gives the Irish 13 commitments and the No. 11 class in the country.
Smith is the second running back committed in the class, joining Indianapolis Cathedral’s Markese Stepp.
Smith led Lee County with 2,130 rushing yards and 40 touchdowns last season.
