“In an effort to accomplish my goals, and to begin a new chapter in my life I have selected The University of Notre Dame as my future home,” Lamb wrote.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound linebacker is a 4-star recruit and is ranked as the sixth-best player at his position, according to the 247Sports composite. He attends Great Oak High School in Temecula, Calif., and is the 20th-ranked player in the state. He’s the No. 154 prospect in the country.
Lamb chose Notre Dame over several other schools, including Oklahoma, Oregon, UCLA, Penn State, Washington, and other Power 5 schools. The linebacker received 23 offers according to 247Sports.
The California native is the fourth-highest rated player committed to Notre Dame in the 2018 recruiting class. That class for the Fighting Irish ranks ninth in the country.
In addition to Lamb, Notre Dame has two other 4-star linebackers committed in the class — inside linebacker Matthew Bauer and outside linebacker Shayne Simon.
