Notre Dame might have come up short on NCAA Tournament goals thanks to a slew of injuries last season, but that hasn’t impacted the school’s confidence in Mike Brey to lead the basketball program.
According to a report from Jeff Goodman of ESPN, the Irish hav extended Brey’s contract through the 2024-25 season.
The 59-year-old Brey just wrapped up his 18th season at Notre Dame and has led the Irish to 12 NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 and two Elite Eight berths. He’s now under contract through his 25th season at Notre Dame and would be 66 when his new deal expires.
Brey is 403-201 during his time with the Irish and 502-252 dating back to his time as Delaware’s coach prior to arriving in South Bend. He was the AP Coach of the Year in 2011.
