Quarterback Drew Pyne is Notre Dame’s first commit in the class of 2020. The 4-star quarterback from Connecticut still has a few years before he gets to campus, but his sights are already set on becoming the next Brady Quinn.
Shortly after Pyne committed, Quinn tweeted this:

And Pyne was thrilled.
“That’s awesome. He was my idol growing up,” Pyne told ND Insider. “Brady Quinn really made me passionate about playing quarterback ever since I was six years old or something. He’s been unbelievable. For him to do that for me, it really hits me because I looked up to him as a kid. Everywhere I went, I wanted to be Brady Quinn.”
Considering 2019 quarterback Cade McNamara’s decommitment, Pyne could be thrust into starting action fairly quickly once he gets to Notre Dame. It looks like he has the right mentality.
