The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Bramblett explained to Irish Sports Daily why the Irish appealed to him over his hometown Crimson Tide.
“The life after college part at Notre Dame is so much greater than Alabama or anywhere else,” Bramblett said. “That really sold me, and that’s why I like Notre Dame a lot. The relationships that are being built are far more important than they could ever be at Alabama or anywhere else.”
Sailer raves about the potential of Bramblett.
“Jay is a big-time high school punting prospect. A great looking athlete with an explosive leg. He has an ideal frame for a D1 college punter. Jay punts for outstanding distance and big hang time. He easily averages 45+ yards, with 4.6+ hang time,” Sailer said. “He also shows the ability to hit punts 50+ yards, with 5.0+ hang time. He has great hands, his footwork is solid, and he is one of the most consistent punters in the nation. He is a great competitor that punts with confidence. Jay is a fine young man that is always a pleasure to work with.”
Notre Dame has 11 commitments in its Class of 2019. It is ranked No. 6 nationally.
Bramblett will compete with incumbent starting punter Tyler Newsome for the position.
