James Washington is easily one of the best wide receivers in college football. CBS Sports’s Chris Trapasso thinks he’s so good that he has him going #1 overall to the Chicago Bears.
Trapasso also has Mason Rudolph going in the top 10, as pick number ten to the Bills.
There’s a lot of NFL talent on this year’s iteration of the Cowboys, and this ranking proves it. Will Washington go at number one? Maybe, but maybe not. He’ll go in the first round regardless of what he does this season, or where he’s placed in mock drafts. Having him at number one at this point might be a tad too bold, however.
Washington has 13 receptions for 367 yards and three touchdowns so far this season. That’s good for a monstrous 28.2 yards per catch.
Washington’s numbers are only going to increase as the season wears on and Oklahoma State plays tougher opponents that require his skills more often. The Cowboys are almost certainly going to pass for a significant amount of yards this year, and Washington is going to have a big chunk of those.
