Kody is the younger brother of Cole Walterscheid, who has started at defensive end for the Cowboys for the last two years. Both hail from Muenster, Texas, which has been one of the best athletic programs at any level in the state for the last few years. Kody won a state title in basketball and football in the same school year.
The younger Walterscheid plays offensive tackle and defensive end, and will most likely play on the defensive side of the ball for Oklahoma State. He stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 230 pounds, so he has room to grow. His brother, Cole, came in slightly undersized to the Cowboys as well but put on nearly 30 pounds of muscle when he hit Oklahoma State’s strength program.
Kody picked Oklahoma State “because it is a great community and it is a great opportunity to play at the Division I level,” he told Allen.
With his commitment, Oklahoma State now has four members in its 2019 class.
