Rickie Fowler finishes 2nd at Masters; Mike Gundy organizes donation drive for local teachers
Welcome to the Monday edition of our Oklahoma State DieHards morning roundup, where we take you through the biggest headlines around Oklahoma State athletics.
Rickie Fowler finishes second at Masters
Rickie Fowler’s search for his elusive first major championship fell short on Sunday. The former Oklahoma State star birdied Nos. 8, 9, 12, 13, 15 and 18 during his final round at the Masters at Augusta National Golf Club but lost by a stroke to Patrick Reed, who shot 15 under par to secure his first major title.
Fowler’s 5-under 67 on Masters Sunday was still one of his best performances of his career. He also earned a solo second-place finish ahead of Jordan Spieth and Jon Rahm.
This is Fowler’s best finish at the Masters since he tied for fifth place in 2014 and his best overall finish in a major championship since his shared second-place finishes at the 2014 U.S. Open and 2014 British Open.
Mike Gundy organizes donation drive for Stillwater teachers
Oklahoma teachers have protested the state’s lack of education funding for the last week. Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy voiced his support for the teachers and he’s organizing a donation drive for the Stillwater Public School District.
We are collecting items for the teachers going to the Capitol Mon 9-1 at Sangre Ridge. Items needed are gas cards, Uber cards, snacks, drinks (soda), we have lots of water as of now, fruit, & monetary donations are greatly needed! This supports the entire SPS district. Thank you!

Oklahoma State men’s basketball Mike Boynton also voiced his support for Oklahoma teachers.
I'm with you, Coach. Outside of my parents, NO ONE had a greater impact on my life than my teachers. They deserve all the resources possible. The future (OUR children) of our state and country depends on it. https://t.co/mVk8Onj5KV
