Oklahoma State AD Mike Holder receives extension; Cowboys 2019 target narrows list
Welcome to the Monday edition of our Oklahoma State DieHards morning roundup, where we take you through the biggest headlines around Oklahoma State athletics.
Mike Holder receives extension
Oklahoma State athletics director Mike Holder received a three-year contraction extension on Friday. The Oklahoma State University Board of Regents approved the extension at its meeting in Oklahoma City.
“Coach Holder’s compensation has been well below market for years,” Oklahoma State President Burns Hargis said in a release. “Under his leadership, Oklahoma State is one of the most well-rounded, competitive athletic programs in the country. Mike has led historic improvements in facilities and performance of our athletes and, with this adjustment, his compensation will be more in line with Big 12 athletic directors.”
Holder will earn $950,000 annually through June 30, 2021.
Cowboys 2019 target narrows list
Edmond, Okla., native and 3-star defensive end prospect Trace Ford cut his schools of interest to eight on Friday. The 6-foot-2, 218-pound prospect narrowed his list to Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Cal, Florida State, Harvard and Oregon.
I am very humbled and blessed to be in a situation such as this. I appreciate every single coach that believed in my playing ability at the next level. After careful thought and consideration, these are the schools I want to focus my recruitment and future on. No specific order. pic.twitter.com/RA516s1Yjs
