Oklahoma State target hints at commitment date; 2020 QB to make decision Friday

Welcome to the Thursday edition of our Oklahoma State DieHards morning roundup, where we take you through the biggest headlines around Oklahoma State athletics.

Oklahoma State target hints at commitment date

Oklahoma State target Collin Clay’s commitment could come in late September, the 2019 defensive end told Rivals.com.

From Rivals:

“We were talking the other night about making my decision in September,” Clay announced. “We were thinking the 21st because that’s our homecoming game against one of our rival schools. I’d make my decision after that game.”

Clay would be a solid pickup for the Cowboys, who are building a nice stable of defensive line prospects for their 2019 group.

The 6-foot-3, 261-pound Clay is from Oklahoma City’s Putnam City High School. He’s a 247Sports composite 3-star prospect and the No. 26 strongside defensive end prospect in his class.

He’s also considering Arkansas and North Carolina.

2020 QB set to announce decision Friday

Grapevine (Texas) Faith Christian quarterback Deuce Hogan is scheduled to announce his commitment on Friday.

The composite 3-star pro-style quarterback would relieve Oklahoma State’s worry about a quarterback for the next cycle. However, Hogan seems to be trending toward Big Ten country.

Hogan is the No. 15-ranked pro-style quarterback in the 2020 class and the No. 48 overall prospect from Texas, according to the 247Sports composite. Iowa holds 100 percent of his 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions.
