Dean Heil will join coach Cary Kolat’s staff at Campbell University, per a release.
The former Oklahoma State wrestler was named Campbell’s director of wrestling operations on Friday.
The two-time NCAA national champion will continue to train part time with both Buies Creek Regional Training Center and Oklahoma Regional Training Center. He will continue to work toward his Olympic goals.
Heil will provide Campbell with his expertise following an illustrious college career.
“I’m really excited to have Dean join us at Campbell,” Kolat said in a release. “His brother [sophomore Josh Heil] is already here competing for us, and he’s going to add a dimension to our Regional Training Center that we needed.
“Dean brings a wealth of knowledge, being a four-time state champion from Ohio and a two-time NCAA champion at Oklahoma State. He’ll also be helping us on staff as our director of operations, and that will be a great role for him as he trains to make an Olympic team.”
Heil won back-to-back NCAA championships in 2016 and 2017. He was a three-time All-American at 141 pounds and finished his Cowboys career with 116 wins. He ranks No. 22 on Oklahoma State’s all-time wins list.
