When Oklahoma State faces Tulsa to open the 2017 season Aug. 31 in Boone Pickens Stadium, the matchup will have a new name. The game between the Cowboys and Golden Hurricane will now be known as the Bank of Oklahoma Turnpike Classic, OSU announced in a release.

The teams play each other four of the next five seasons. The Cimarron Turnpike separates Stillwater and Tulsa, hence the series’ name.
“This series has featured outstanding players and teams that have produced memorable moments for more than 100 years and it promises to provide exciting matchups for years to come,” OSU athletic director Mike Holder said in the release.
OSU leads the all-time series 39-27-5, having won five in a row. The teams haven’t played since 2011, when the eventual Big 12 champion Cowboys steamrolled Tulsa, 59-33.
