Zack Dawson has big shoes to fill in helping replace new Clipper Jawun Evans as Oklahoma State’s point guard. It seems he’s trying to get some tips from someone a little further back in the Cowboys’ point-guard lineage.
Thursday night, Dawson tweeted a photo of him and his little brother in a University of Miami gym with Celtics guard Marcus Smart. Smart played for the Cowboys from 2012-14 before Boston took him with the sixth pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

Dawson, a freshman out of Miami, is expected to back up graduate transfer Kendall Smith and sophomore Brandon Averette at the point. But the 4-star recruit could see plenty of time on the floor for first-year coach Mike Boynton, and gym time with Smart certainly won’t hurt.
