Maine graduate transfer Aaron Calixte seems to be inching closer to a decision.
The Maine point guard’s choices are down to Oklahoma, Grand Canyon, DePaul, Florida State and Missouri, according to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman. He’s scheduled to visit Grand Canyon this weekend and then visit Oklahoma the next.
Calixte seemingly confirmed the report when he retweeted Goodman’s post on Tuesday.
Calixte led the Black Bears in scoring last season with 16.9 points per game. He also averaged 3.2 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game, and he made 89.9 percent of his free throws.
The Stoughton, Mass., native originally announced his intention to transfer on March 11. Oklahoma quickly made an in-home visit with Calixte after the Sooners exited the NCAA Tournament in the first round.
Even as a one-year rental, the 5-foot-11, 187-pound guard could be a huge addition for coach Lon Kruger’s 2018-19 group.
The Sooners saw their guard depth quickly dwindle this offseason after three players left the program. Oklahoma star freshman Trae Young declared for the NBA Draft as many expected. Jordan Shepherd and Kameron McGusty are also bolting from the program to seek transfers.
