As the 2018 NFL Draft approaches, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield is making the media rounds and talking about the arduous process he’s going through to prove he belongs in the pros.
That media tour will continue Tuesday, when Mayfield appears on ESPN’s QB2QB show with Russell Wilson, the Seattle Seahawks’ star quarterback. Wilson’s series will feature 1-on-1 conversations with top quarterback prospects for the NFL draft.
Mayfield and Wilson have more in common than you might think. Both are slightly undersized — Wilson is listed at 5-foot-11, while Mayfield last measured at 6-foot-1. Both are just shy of being classified as dual-threat quarterbacks, although both can run if called upon. And both are used to winning the majority of games in which they appear behind center.
So far in the draft process, Mayfield has proven to be a polarizing figure. Some experts think he’s the best quarterback in the class, while others think he’s immature and sure to be a bust. (He does have a Heisman Trophy to show off, for the record.)
Mayfield isn’t the only Big 12 quarterback to sit down with Wilson for the show. Oklahoma State’s Mason Rudolph will also appear on QB2QB.
You can catch’s Mayfield’s episode at 6 p.m. CT on Tuesday, April 17.
