Kyler Murray seems to have no problem fitting in with his new team.
Or at least, not with the man in front of him.
Murray turns 20 years old today, and Baker Mayfield, the man he backs up at quarterback for Oklahoma took to Instagram to wish him a happy birthday.
Between ribbing Murray for his form in warm-ups, referencing playing the video game Rocket League together and deeming him “the man with all the juice,” it’s pretty clear Baker Mayfield and Kyler have a at least a decent working relationship.
Murray thanked Mayfield in the comments, throwing a heart emoji in for good measure. He took a bit of issue with the height disparity in the picture, though — “he’s not that tall,” Murray insisted. (For the record, Mayfield is listed at 6’1″, while Murray is two inches shorter at 5’11”.)
The two make up one of the best quarterback rosters in the country. Mayfield is a Heisman Trophy candidate, while Murray, who transferred from Texas A&M in 2015, is currently in a battle with Austin Kendall to be the number two man on the depth chart.
Murray transferred after his freshman year with the Aggies and is in his first year of eligibility with the Sooners.
