The 2018 NFL Draft is less than one month away, and it remains up for debate as to where Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield will be heading when it’s all said and done.
Several teams have established themselves as viable options for the 2017 Heisman Trophy winnner, who led the Sooners to three straight Big 12 titles from 2015-2017. The New York Jets are one of those teams, and according to one NFL insider, “Broadway Baker” may be taking the stage in the near future.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport said on Monday that he “knows there is a lot of love in the Jets’ building for Baker Mayfield” and that there is a “lot to like” if the franchise does end up drafting the man who has been the face of Oklahoma football for the last three seasons.

Mayfield visited the Jets on Monday. He has already made previous visits several other teams including the Cleveland Browns. Mayfield is also reportedly set to visit the Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos later this month ahead of the NFL Draft.
Until then, it’s anyone’s guess as to which quarterback-needy team will end up taking a chance on Mayfield as their new face of the franchise. But if Mayfield does set his sights on the Big Apple, even if it’s the Giants instead of the Jets, nobody should be too surprised.
Mayfield finished his time at Oklahoma with 12,292 passing yards 119 touchdown passes with a career passer rating 189.4 in his three seasons with the Sooners. Oklahoma made the College Football Playoff twice during his tenure and won at least 11 games every season with Mayfield at the helm on offense.
