From Russell Wilson to Johnny Manziel, Baker Mayfield receives a lot of comparisons.
You could argue none of Mayfield’s comparisons are as glowing as the one he received from Nate Burleson on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football.”
Burleson, a former NFL wide receiver, says some of Mayfield’s traits reminds him of New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.
“Baker Mayfield is, of course, the undersized, very accurate quarterback from Oklahoma,” Burleson said. “So, let’s start off with his arm. Baker Mayfield’s arm, it reminds me of Drew Brees. … The footwork, everybody’s talking about the footwork. I couldn’t go as far as saying he’s Russell Wilson. I couldn’t go far as saying he’s Tom Brady. He does remind me of Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions. … One last thing, I wasn’t going to go one more physical trait. So, I feel like Baker Mayfield has the camera presence of Cam Newton.”
What do you get when you put DrewBrees, Matthew Stafford and CameronNewton together?
According to Nate13Burleson, it's bakermayfield.

Mayfield’s future is uncertain with a surplus in quarterbacks this draft cycle and unpredictability of the NFL Draft.
He might not exactly be the next Brees, Stafford or Newton. But rolling Brees, Stafford and Newton into one quarterback has the makings of a scary NFL player.
Mayfield seems to have garnered interest from almost every team in need of a quarterback. His size and off-the-field antics might make teams cautious to select the Oklahoma quarterback. The 2017 Heisman Trophy winner isn’t unfamiliar, however, with proving people wrong.
The 2018 NFL Draft is scheduled for April 26-28 in Arlington, Texas.
