Back in the glory days of Oklahoma and Nebraska’s rivalry, this would have been considered a cardinal sin.
But on Thursday, college football Twitter nearly exploded when Jeopardy! contestant Alec mixed up the Huskers and Sooners while answering a clue from the Looking at Colleges category for $600.
The full clue read: “You can write for its Prairie Schooner literary mag, plus you’re 6-5, 330 — you’d be a good Cornhusker lineman at this [university].”
Alec’s rather confident answer? Oklahoma, earning a quick “Oh, no” from host Alex Trebek.

It didn’t help when none of the three contestants could answer the next clue, which provided a photo of Notre Dame’s Touchdown Jesus, either.
It was the second time the Sooners made their way into the game show world this week. On Wednesday, Wheel of Fortune contestant Merlinda, an Oklahoma fan and Dallas resident, took a shot at her Red River rivals on national television.
