The hometown hero showed up clutch again for Oklahoma basketball on Tuesday.
Freshman phenom Trae Young, after shooting just 1 for 12 from the field in the first half, erupted for 22 points in the final frame as the No. 9 Sooners took down No. 8 Texas Tech, 75-65, at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Okla.
And the Norman North High School product was proudly representing the city the Sooners call home following the win.

Young is averaging a whopping 29.4 points and 10.2 assists per game in his debut season with the Sooners.
Oklahoma is now 13-2 overall and 3-1 in Big 12 play entering their home game vs. No. 16 TCU on Saturday. Tip-off for the showdown between the Sooners and Horned Frogs is set for noon CT. The Sooners previously downed TCU, 90-89, in Fort Worth on Dec. 30.
