Baker Mayfield has been far and away one of the most polarizing prospects in the 2018 NFL Draft. Some think he’s a star, while some think he’ll be a dud. But according to Bleacher Report draft analyst Matt Miller, NFL sources have high opinions of the Heisman Trophy winner.
On Wednesday, Miller Tweeted that NFL decision-makers are unanimously high on Mayfield, as popular consensus has started to link the former Oklahoma Sooner to the New York Jets with the No. 3 overall pick.
Okay, NFL #sources. I’m officially tired of hearing how perfect Baker is.
On a serious note: EVERYONE loves Baker. It's amazing.

That’s an achievement, because the last few months have been filled with NFL sources nitpicking the quarterbacks set to go at the top of the draft. Sam Darnold turns the ball over too much. Josh Rosen is too much of a free-thinker. Josh Allen didn’t put up good enough statistics against Mountain West competition.
If what Miller says is true, Mayfield’s chances of going with one of the first few picks of the first round seem high, especially with Josh Rosen reportedly slipping down draft boards in recent weeks.
For his part, Mayfield said that he doesn’t plan on going later than the top 5. And when he does go in the top 5, he has text messages already locked and ready for the people who doubted him.
