A monstrous recruiting weekend for the Oklahoma Sooners reached its apex Monday, as their Class of 2019 reached the top of the 247Sports composite rankings.
The Sooners hauled in seven — count ’em, seven — recruits this weekend, all of which could make a massive impact at the collegiate level. Safety Jarrian Jones, a 4-star prospect that committed on Monday, was the final addition that pushed the class to No. 1 in the 247Sports rankings.
Oklahoma’s Class of 2019 prospects have an average grade of 93.46, according to the rankings. Second place Ole Miss has an average grade of 86.85. In total points, the Sooners have 189.39, while the Rebels are at 189.22. Keep in mind, Oklahoma has only nine 2019 recruits committed thus far, while Ole Miss has 15. The Sooners also top the Rivals ranking of the Class of 2019.
Perhaps the most stunning part of Oklahoma’s weekend came Friday, when the Sooners landed three 4-star recruits in quick succession. Arjei Henderson, Theo Wease and Jamal Morris coming to Oklahoma certainly turned heads.
The Sooners ended the 2018 recruiting cycle as the No. 9 team in the 247Sports rankings. Clearly, Lincoln Riley and his staff weren’t satisfied with that. As talented as they will be in 2018, the Sooners’ 2019 season seems to have the potential to be the jumping-off point for an incredible run.
