Oklahoma is among seven teams with the best odds of making the College Football Playoff in 2018, according to make/miss odds released by BetOnline on Tuesday.
The Sooners are +350 to make the playoff, meaning a bettor who put $100 on them would net $350 if they make the field. They are -500 to miss the playoff, meaning a bettor would have to put $500 down to net $100 if Oklahoma missed the playoff. Oklahoma is the only Big 12 team represented in the opening odds.
Reigning national champion Alabama is the favorite at -220 to make the playoff field. Clemson is next at -105.

The Sooners are coming off their second playoff appearance in three years, falling to Georgia 54-48 in double overtime in the Rose Bowl. They are the only Big 12 team to make the playoff since its inception in 2014. Oklahoma is the No. 7-ranked team in USA Today’s post-spring preseason rankings.
Oklahoma has some significant pieces to replace from its 2017 team, including Heisman winner and No. 1 overall draft pick Baker Mayfield. However, oddsmakers and media alike still think the Sooners are the Big 12’s best shot at a title this season.
