Lincoln Riley took over Oklahoma’s program after Bob Stoops retired last June. He made it the College Football Playoff in his debut season, and he might have the tools to get there again in Year 2.
Betting on the Sooners
A $100 wager on Oklahoma at 20/1 odds would win $2,000.
The current line on Oklahoma winning the College Football Playoff gives them an implied 4.76-percent chance. Alabama, which is listed at 7/4 odds, has an implied 36.36-percent chance of winning the 2018 national title.
Oklahoma, of course, hasn’t settled on its starting quarterback and has a few holes to plug along its offensive line. The Sooners defense also is still a question mark and was a liability last season.
The Sooners have a favorable schedule with seven home games, but the nonconference slate includes games against coach Lane Kiffin’s Florida Atlantic team and Chip Kelly’s UCLA squad to start the 2018 season.
