Marquise “Hollywood” Brown made a name for himself at Oklahoma in 2017. He emerged as the speediest wide receiver for the Sooners en route to more than 1,000 receiving yards on the season.
Any Oklahoma students who are bold enough can now enter a contest to test their own speed against Brown — and with a little extra head start too.
Oklahoma football announced on Monday that Brown is challenging students to compete against him in a 50-yard footrace — complete with a 10-yard head start for the lucky one who is chosen.
The contest, dubbed “You vs. Hollywood,” will coincide with Oklahoma’s spring game in Norman, Okla., on April 14. Those interested have been instructed to enter a drawing at the student tailgate on Wagner Lawn, with the winner being announced at noon that day.
So, what will it take to best Brown in the race? If the video above didn’t do enough justice in showcasing his speed, here’s some highlights from “Hollywood” against Oklahoma State last fall. He just happened to manage a whopping 265 receiving yards in that game alone.

Yep — good luck. If you win, you’ll be walking away with an “OU Swag Bag.” Maybe play-by-plan man Gus Johnson (heard above) will even be kind enough to give you your own nickname if you cross the finish line first.
Oklahoma’s spring game will kick off at 1:15 p.m. CT from Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. The 2018 regular season, which begins with a home game vs. Florida Atlantic on Sept. 1, will mark the start of the Sooners’ quest for a fourth consecutive Big 12 title.
