Oklahoma football had a busy recruiting weekend as the Sooners landed a trio of commitments, as reported by Greg Riddle of the Dallas Morning News.
The group was highlighted by defensive end prospect Jalen Redmond — a 3-star prospect who is rated 17th nationally among weak-side defensive ends in the 2018 recruiting class, per the 247Sports composite. The Oklahoma native announced his decision Saturday with a Twitter video of him on the field at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

Redmond was joined by 2020 running back prospect Jase McClellan and 2019 athlete Jeffery Carter — both from Aledo (Texas) High School. McClellan has not been rated yet by 247Sports but has received 14 offers, according to Riddle. Meanwhile, Carter is a 4-star prospect rated 41st overall in Texas in the 2019 recruiting class.
Both McClellan and Carter made their announcements through their personal Twitter accounts prior to Redmond.

Oklahoma now has 16 commitments in its 2018 recruiting class, according to Riddle. On the other side of the spectrum, Carter is the first commit in the Sooners’ 2020 recruiting class.
