Oklahoma receiver Nick Basquine is out for the season with a left Achilles injury, coach Lincoln Riley confirmed during Sooners media day. Basquine’s injury was originally reported by Scout.com’s Bob Przybylo.
The redshirt junior had 20 catches for 265 yards and 2 touchdowns a year ago. Eric Bailey of the Tulsa World tweeted a photo of Basquine at Meet the Sooners Day wearing a boot on his left foot.

Riley said sophomore Mykel Jones will step into Basquine’s place in the slot. Jones had 13 catches for 106 yards as a freshman in 2016.
