An elite prospect with 39 offers to date, Wease’s latest list cut left the likes of Ohio State, UCLA and TCU on the outside looking in after each made his top seven list in late January.
A former Oklahoma pledge, Wease originally committed to the Sooners last year while in Norman for a Junior Day visit. Just over two months later, though, Wease backed out of his pledge on April 24 as his recruitment continued to pick up steam.
Nevertheless, as numerous offers from programs such as invitations from Florida State, Nebraska, UCLA, Tennessee, Ohio State, USC, Florida and Texas A&M have rolled in since he de-commitment, Oklahoma has remaining a factor in Wease’s recruitment.
Wease has since visited Oklahoma on numerous occasions, and will return to Norman on April 13 for an official visit. Wease also has official visits scheduled to Texas A&M on April 6 and USC on June 22.
A 6-foot-3, 194-pound prospect, Wease is ranked as the nation’s No. 31 player, No. 5 wide receiver and the No. 4 player in Texas, per the 247Sports Composite.
