Trae Young, like any sane NBA player, wants to play with LeBron James.
The new Hawks point guard was pitching James on joining him in Atlanta on Twitter on Wednesday, even if it’s not a very realistic possibility. James has until Friday to officially opt out of his current deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
What’s up LeBron!? Come to the A and let’s get these Rings Fam👀🔥

If he opts out as expected, James will be the most coveted free agent on the market this summer. He’s expected to pursue a max deal, which would be 35 percent of the $101 million salary cap.
The Hawks currently have a little more than $29 million in cap space, but they could make some moves to increase that number. They still won’t be expected to be a serious contender for James, but Young can certainly dream. Young’s playmaking ability and shooting would take some of the offensive load off James, and James could help Young develop as a defender and a ball handler.
Young was the No. 5 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft after a deal between the Hawks and the Dallas Mavericks that sent No. 3 overall pick Luka Dončić to Dallas.
