Oregon State and North Carolina were the first two teams to earn spots in the College World Series, and the only ones to win their respective Super Regionals in two-game sweeps. As fate would have it, they are set to open the CWS against each other at 12 p.m. PT on Saturday. The game will air on ESPN.

The third-seeded Beavers (49-10-1) bring a five-game win streak to Omaha, having blown through the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament by outscoring their opponents 49-8. No. 6 North Carolina (43-18) has won six games in a row dating back to the ACC Tournament, and in the NCAA Tournament, the Tar Heels have outscored their foes 48-23.
If Oregon State wins its opener, it will play the winner of the Mississippi State-Washington game on Monday. If the Beavers lose to North Carolina, they’ll play the Mississippi State-Washington loser in an elimination match on Monday.
Oregon State is making its seventh CWS appearance and second consecutive. The Beavers won back-to-back national titles in 2006-07.
