In going 16-16 last season, Oregon State was very good at (and close to) home and not so great everywhere else. The Beavers were 12-4 at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis and also beat Saint Louis at the Moda Center in Portland but were 1-9 in true road games and 3-11 when playing outside the state.
That includes a 1-2 showing at the Advocare Invitational in Orlando over Thanksgiving, where OSU lost to St. John’s and Missouri before beating a Marist team that would go 6-25 and finish near the bottom of the MAAC.
The Beavers have known for a while they were going to be making another long trip for an early-season tournament in 2018-19, and now they know who they will face to start the Paradise Jam Nov. 16-19 in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

OSU will open the tournament slate against Old Dominion, which went 25-7 last season and finished second in Conference USA before losing to Western Kentucky in the conference tournament semifinals. The Monarchs return their top two scorers from that team.
The Beavers will face either Kennesaw State or Missouri in their second game. Their third game will be against Eastern Kentucky, Kansas State, Northern Iowa or Pennsylvania.
