Smith averaged 1.9 points and 1.2 rebounds per game in 62 games played, filling a reserve role for a Final Four squad in 2016-17 and a similar position in 2017-18. He shot 46.6 percent from the floor in his most recent season but averaged less than two shot attempts per game.
Smith was the No. 3 player in the state of Washington in the 2016 recruiting class and the No. 20 small forward in the nation. Along with Oregon, Smith had offers from San Diego State, Arizona, California and Gonzaga.
The forward will be forced to sit out the 2018-19 season before he can spend his final two years of eligiblity playing for former Arizona associate head coach Lorenzo Romar, who left the Wildcats to take the head coaching job at Pepperdine in March.
