Willie Taggart has made quite the splash in his first recruiting class, and the Oregon coach is closer to landing another gem.
Four-star linebacker Nik Bonitto has included Oregon in his narrowed list of potential schools. The 6-foot-2 1/2, 204-pound prospect from St. Thomas Aquinas High School (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) announced his final seven Sunday via Twitter.

Bonitto, a member of the Class of 2018, is one of the nation’s top linebacker prospects. Taggart’s program faces plenty of competition in Alabama, Louisville, Virginia Tech and Mississippi State, but the inclusion of Penn State, Oklahoma and Oregon is proof Bonitto isn’t limiting himself to schools closer to home. If Taggart can land Bonitto, it would be yet another impressive commitment secured by a program that reached its lowest point in well over a decade last season. Oregon has bounced back with the top-ranked recruiting class.
