“I would like to thank Coach (Dana) Altman and the rest of the coaching staff for the opportunity to be a part of one of the best basketball programs in the nation,” Smith said on. “I would have never dreamed of going to the Final Four during my first year in college, what an amazing experience that was. I’m also very grateful for the countless wonderful experience I’ve had off the court being a Duck.”
A sophomore forward out of Seattle, Wash., Smith struggled to see consistent playing time for Oregon this season. He averaged 1.9 points and 1.4 rebounds per game in 2017-18.
He scored a season-high 9 points against Prairie View A&M.
Smith was the second Oregon player to announce his plans to leave the Ducks on Tuesday as Troy Brown declared for the NBA draft.
