More wins than walks.
That’s the story of Megan Kleist, the dominant Oregon pitcher with a sub-1.00 ERA and 200 strikeouts in 2018. She added the most prestigious line to her impressive bio on Saturday: Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year.
Kleist served as Oregon’s ace in 2018, posting a 20-5 record and a 0.89 ERA in 160⅔ innings, allowing 22 earned runs and walking 16. The junior from Appleton, Wis., was twice named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week in 2018 as she mowed down opponents with consistency, so much that she was a top-10 finalist for USA Softball’s Collegiate Player of the Year.

Kleist was one of four Ducks named to the All-Pac-12 first team.
