A year ago Oregon was very active on the recruiting front in Florida, the product of then-coach Willie Taggart’s connections to the Sunshine State. Though most of the players the Ducks were pursuing cooled their interest after Taggart left for Florida State, one player from the 2019 class remains intrigued by playing in the Pac-12.
Oregon is the only school outside of the ACC and SEC that made the final eight announced Tuesday by 4-star offensive lineman Dontae Lucas:

Lucas is ranked No. 147 overall by 247Sports, which also has him as the eighth-best guard and No. 21 prospect from Florida. He is originally from Miami but plays for IMG Academy in Bradenton.
The 6-foot-3, 323-pound Lucas has 20 scholarship offers. The one from Oregon came in May 2017, though since then most of his recruiting activity has involved either visiting or meeting with representatives from Florida, Florida State and Miami.
